You're not alone — many travelers feel that way at first! Silver Social Travel offers small-group trips with like-minded, life-experienced adults, so it feels more like traveling with future friends than strangers. We offer an optional pre-trip meet-and-greet to break the ice, and our hosts create a relaxed, welcoming vibe with room for connection and solo time. 

On our hosted trips, we aim to provide 4-star hotel lodging at a minimum. Some locations may involve a unique stay (like a castle!), but we really prioritize your comfort.

We tailor our hosted trips to accommodate adults 55 and over, but are open to other travelers who may want to join. While we do try to see and experience as much as possible, we are intentional in keeping the pace less intense than other organizations. 

Yes. While we cannot process the applications for you, we can assist with visa applications and provide guidance on the process and requirements for different countries.

Airfare to reach the initial destination is not included in the cost. If there is a flight during the trip noted in the itinerary, it is generally included unless otherwise noted. 

Absolutely! Though the initial airfare is not included in the cost, we can absolutely help you to find the best flight options and prices.

We can absolutely work to accommodate you. The slower pace of the trip will allow us to take time to move about our excursion destinations. Please share any of your concerns when booking, or send a message with your concerns. 

If you opt for the double occupancy rate, rooms will be shared. If you are traveling with a friend, we will absolutely pair you up upon your request. However, it is possible that if a location does not allow for shared rooms (i.e. only one bed per room), then someone booking double occupancy may end up with their own room at certain stays during a tour.

You do not have to participate in the entire itinerary if you do not want to. Traveling to a new location with the group as part of the itinerary is important for the flow of the trip, but opting out of certain activities is absolutely fine. The sooner we know your decision to opt out, the better, so that we can help you make other plans if you'd like to do something else.

Absolutely. The deposit is required to save your spot, but as long as you have paid in full by 90 days prior to the trip, we can break it down into smaller, scheduled payments. 

• A deposit is due when you reserve your spot. Your spot is pending until the minimum number of travelers is met — if the trip doesn’t go forward, your payments are fully refunded. Canceling while your spot is pending will also result in a full refund.
• Once the minimum is met, your spot becomes confirmed and you'll receive an email. After that, the deposit becomes non-refundable, though other payments remain refundable until 90 days before the trip. Canceling once the trip is confirmed but before the 90 day pre-trip mark will result in a refund for any payment except for the deposit.
• Final payment is due 90 days pre-trip. After this date, all payments, including the deposit, are non-refundable upon traveler cancellation.

For your safety and peace of mind, we do require travel insurance. If you need assistance with this, please consult with us - we are happy to help!

We are so happy to include this with our hosted trips, and to also offer it on our custom trips! Photos will be taken throughout the trip at major landmarks and during our group moments.

For the hosted trips, our photographer will select 10 photos to edit and share with you electronically, free of charge. Should you want more, pricing on additional photos will be shared during the trip.

For custom trips, the needs of the traveler will be incorporated into the trip cost itself.
